ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (July 23, 2019) — The Rock Island Arsenal Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (RIA AUSA) will host its 20th Annual Military Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, September 13, 2019, at Glynn’s Creek Golf Course. It will feature celebrity golfer SMA Kenneth Preston, the 13th Sergeant Major of the Army and current Vice President for Noncommissioned Officer abd Soldier Programs at the Association of the United States Army in Arlington, Virginia. AM General, the Presenting Sponsor, will be featuring their M997A3 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Ambulance at the event, which includes a wine/cheese tasting meet and greet with SMA Preston on Thursday, 9/12/19, 6-8PM, at the golf course. This ambulance is produced at the Rock Island Arsenal. Representatives from AM General will be available for comment.

As a key fundraising event, all proceeds benefit the Rock Island Arsenal Chapter 5102 and will be used to fund scholarships, military signing events for high school students, an annual Day of Giving event providing $100 in groceries to 100 military families and additional events throughout the year. This may include supporting local military impacting by historic flooding, sponsoring the Mighty Hawkeye Battalion and Blue Devil Battalion ROTC/JROTC cadet events or donating to organizations that provide service dogs to veterans. The chapter is always looking for ways to serve.
