A new campaign committee-- representing every school district in Rock Island County-- will be announced at a news conference scheduled for this Friday, January 30, 2009. The event will begin at 10:00 am at the Moline Centre Station (1200 River Drive) in downtown Moline.

 

Also at the news conference the campaign's web site will be unveiled and Iowa's success story, with its one cent sales tax option, will be told by a key supporter of that state's campaign to build new schools.

 

WHO: The Rock Island County Kids First Campaign Committee aimed at winning approval of a referenda initiative on the April 7, 2009, ballot that will boost the sales tax one percent to fund school improvements

 

WHAT: Announce committee members, a new web site and tout the success of Iowa's tax option campaign
