DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 22, 2019) — Scott County Auditor Roxanna Moritz announced today that ballots for the November 5, 2019 City/School Election are available for all precincts, including those in the City of Davenport which were delayed due to the recount of the mayoral primary election. The Auditor’s Office will mail ballots to Davenport voters who have already requested absentee ballots by mail tomorrow, October 23, 2018.
Ballots for all precincts are available for voting at the Auditor’s Office Monday through Thursday, 8AM-4:30PM. On Fridays, the office will be open 8AM-5PM.
The deadline for both requesting an absentee ballot by mail and to pre-register to vote for the City/School Election is this Friday, October 25, 2019 at 5PM. Requests for absentee ballots and voter registration forms must be received in the Auditor’s Office by that deadline.
Moritz also directed voters to WhereUVote Scott County, a mobile device app to help Scott County voters know where they can vote and to view sample ballots for the upcoming City/School Election on November 5, 2019.
“WhereUVote for Scott County provides a quick and easy way to find your polling place in Scott County no matter where you are,” Moritz said. “The app will also display a voter’s specific sample ballot. We have 108 possible ballot styles this year due to combining city and school elections, with pollling places offering up to six different choices. WhereUVote makes it easy to find your sample ballot,” she said.
“The app is free and available for Apple and Android mobile devices,” Moritz added.
Features of this app include:
- Find your polling place on Election Day to cast your ballot.
- Gives dates, times, and locations of all early voting locations.
- Use a navigation app to find your voting place after you choose a site to go vote.
- Ability to view sample ballots.
- A contact feature with email and phone options for contacting the Auditor’s Office with your questions.
“With so many people of all ages now using mobile devices it just makes sense to provide a mobile friendly alternative to people,” Moritz said. “Four other counties in Iowa provide this app to their citizens. As soon as I saw it I knew we needed this app for Scott County. It’s perfect for people on the go,” she said.
