WASHINGTON DC (August 22, 2019) — Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley and USDA Undersecretary Bill Northey will meet with Iowa agriculture stakeholders on Wednesday, August 28 at the Cedar Falls Family Restaurant located at 2627 Center Street in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The topic of discussion will be the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and how it will benefit the Iowa agriculture industry. The discussion will be closed to press, but Sen Grassley and UnSec Northey will hold a joint media availability following the meeting at 1:30PM CT. Members of the media interested in attending must RSVP to Katelyn_Schultz@grassley.senate.gov.

“Passing USMCA means new and improved market access for American farmers in Canada and Mexico. With Canada and Mexico being our two largest trading partners, the benefits for Iowa’s agriculture are significant. Farmers around the country depend on trade, and this agreement strengthens our strong trade ties with Canada and Mexico. The time to pass USMCA is now,” Sen Grassley and UnSec Northey said.

UnSec Northey previously served as Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture from 2007 to 2018.
