DES MOINES, IOWA (February 4, 2019) — Here is information about Sen Grassley’s schedule this week. The Senate is in session.

Sen Grassley met or will meet with Iowans from Respect Life and Social Justice for the Catholic Archdiocese of Dubuque, University of Northern Iowa, University of Iowa, Iowa State University, The Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, The Iowa Rural Water Association, The Iowa Department of Public Safety, The Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, The Technology Association of Iowa, The National Biodiesel Board, The Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, The National Skills Coalition, The Iowa State Education Association, and The Association of Civilian Technicians.

Sen Grassley met or will meet with Iowa families visiting Washington DC from West Des Moines, Ames, Osceola, and Cedar Falls.

Sen Grassley was or will be on public affairs programs with Mike Adams on Adams on Agriculture, Hugh Hewitt with Salem Radio Network, and Doug Wagner on WMT in Cedar Rapids.

On Tuesday, February 5 at 10AM (EST), Sen Grassley will participate in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on nominations.

On Tuesday, February 5 at 10:15AM (EST), Sen Grassley will preside over a Senate Finance Committee executive business meeting to consider the nominations of Michael Faulkender to be an assistant secretary of the Treasury; Jeffrey Kessler to be an assistant secretary of Commerce; Elizabeth Darling to be the Commissioner on Children, Youth, and Families at the Department of Health and Human Services; and Michael Desmond to be the chief counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and an assistant general counsel at the Department of the Treasury.

On Tuesday, February 5 at 9PM (EST), Sen Grassley will attend President Donald J Trump’s State of the Union address with his wife, Mrs Barbara Grassley, as his guest. As president pro tempore, Grassley is a member of the Escort Committee for the President’s State of the Union address.

On Wednesday, February 6 at 8AM (EST), Sen Grassley will speak to the Agriculture Retailers Association. Grassley will receive their Legislator of the Year award for 2018.

On Thursday, February 7 at 8AM (EST), Sen Grassley will attend the 67th Annual National Prayer Breakfast.

On Thursday, February 7 at 10AM (EST), Sen Grassley will participate in a Senate Judiciary Committee executive business meeting to consider the nomination of William Barr to be United States Attorney General and other pending judicial nominations.
