DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 6, 2020) — The Downtown Davenport Partnership, a division of the Quad Cities Chamber, has organized a special local shopping drive-thru event featuring specials at multiple downtown Davenport businesses, 1-4PM, Saturday, May 9. Shoppers are strongly encouraged to place orders at businesses in advance of the event in order to be able to pick-up curbside or via drive-thru while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
“Each of our downtown businesses is local, unique, and important contributors to our regional economy,” said DDP Executive Director Kyle Carter. “We wanted to organize this event to give Quad Citizens a safe way to shop local and support small businesses that really need our help right now.”
In addition, the event will feature curbside concerts throughout the downtown area presented by River Music Experience (RME) and a local food drive organized by One Eighty. RME performers include Charlotte Boyer Music, Jordan Danielsen Music and Brady Jager of Rude Punch. Non-perishable food items and/or monetary donations may be dropped off at a pop-up drive-thru at Union Station, 120 S Harrison St, Davenport.
