DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 17, 2020) — Back by popular demand, the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP), a division of the Quad Cities Chamber, has organized the second Downtown Davenport Drive-Thru, a local and dining shopping event featuring specials at more than a dozen businesses from 1-4PM, Saturday, June 20 in advance of Father’s Day.

Since businesses are back open, DDP will offer more of a “scroll and stroll” event versus a “drive-thru” like its May Mother’s Day event. Scrolling means customers can place orders online or over the phone in advance for curbside pick-up, while strolling opportunities include street level shopping such as in-store specials, sidewalk sales and outdoor drinking and dining.

“Our initial event in May was so popular that many businesses and customers asked if we could do it again,” DDP Executive Director Kyle Carter. “Our downtown businesses are local, unique, important contributors to our regional economy. This is yet another way to support small businesses that are still in the early stages of getting back on their feet.”

The event is hosting local musicians Jenny Lynn Stacy and Donovan Gustofson for curbside concerts throughout the downtown presented by River Music Experience. A drive-thru pet food pantry organized by the Quad Cites River Bandits and Purina will be held at Modern Woodmen Park, 209 S Gaines, 2-6PM.

For a complete list of participating vendors and their specials, visit Downtown Davenport Partnership on Facebook (@downtowndavenport). Participants are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines during this event.
