Chicago, IL – Today, Daniel Biss announced the endorsement of State Senator Steve Stadelman.

“I’m proud to endorse Daniel Biss for governor,” said Steve Stadelman. “I’ve seen the pain the budget crisis has caused in my community—how it’s threatened our social services, education, infrastructure and more. But I’ve been in Rockford long enough to know that this crisis has been going on for more than three years. For decades, Springfield has failed to be the forward-looking and reliable partner Rockford needs.

“Daniel has the experience and the vision to transform our state government. To not only pass a budget that balances on paper, but one that provides long-term stability. Our families, like the middle class and working families around the state, deserve to know that our government is working for them—not just to maintain the status quo, but to do the hard work of creating opportunity.

"As a state representative in my Senate District, Litesa Wallace, too, has a proven record of success—of championing causes long forgotten by Springfield, expertly building consensus among her colleagues, and building a better state for our families. In joining the ticket, Litesa affirms what I already knew to be true: Daniel is the candidate I trust to guarantee a better future for Rockford, and for all of Illinois.”

“It’s an honor to receive Steve Stadelman’s endorsement,” said Daniel Biss. "Steve’s priority has always been to make government work for people, and in Springfield, I’ve seen this firsthand. His record is one of smart policies that improve the lives of all Illinoisans based on the experiences and challenges of his constituents—and he’s focused on those details rather than the politics that so often derail progress. Policies that remove barriers to high school diplomas for adults, that invigorate local economies through infrastructure investment, and that allow access to needed medicine in emergency situations. These accomplishments, rooted in the needs of his community rather than in the demands of big donors, are emblematic of the kind of policy agenda we must fight for as we join together to build a government that works for all of us."
