Children succeed when families do. Knowing this, Spring Forward is thrilled to partner with QC Marriage and Family Counseling to offer play groups at our Family Literacy Program.

Family Counselor Xochi Pannell and Parent Liason Lisa Viane lead the playgroups where families read, sing songs, and do arts and crafts together.

The playgroups are meant to be fun while also supporting families as they adjust to their new homes and environments. Ms. Pannell said, "It's playtime but we also also teach them coping skills and help prepare them as their children to get ready to go to pre-school, kindergarten, and beyond."

The playgroups are supported through grants to QC Marriage and Family Counseling. For more
information about this program, contact Xochi Pannell at 309.236.3372.

Help Keep the Reader Alive and Free Since '93!

"We're the River Cities' Reader, and we've kept the Quad Cities' only independently owned newspaper alive and free since 1993.

So please help the Reader keep going with your one-time, monthly, or annual support. With your financial support the Reader can continue providing uncensored, non-scripted, and independent journalism alongside the Quad Cities' area's most comprehensive cultural coverage." - Todd McGreevy, Publisher
