DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 17, 2026) — River Bend Food Bank invites local media to join students, community leaders, and supporters as we kick off the Fortieth Student Hunger Drive and challenge the entire community to help make this milestone year even more impactful.
Join us on Monday, September 21, 6PM, at River Bend Food Bank’s Davenport Warehouse (4010 Kimmel Dr, Davenport, Iowa) to hear how local students are once again stepping up to fight hunger.
For forty years, River Bend Food Bank has challenged local students to raise food and funds for their communities through the Student Hunger Drive. Since its inception in 1986, students have helped provide more than 21 million meals for neighbors facing hunger.
During Monday’s event, local high-school students will rally together to prepare for this year’s competition, participate in a skit competition, and receive supplies they need to go out into the community to raise food and funds.
River Bend Food Bank leaders and students will come together to share the importance of the Student Hunger Drive.
