BETTENDORF, IOWA (July 23, 2026) — Iowa Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students made their mark at the 2026 FBLA National Leadership Conference from June 29-July 3.
FBLA is the nation's largest Career and Technical Student Organization focused on business. Members showcased their exceptional skills and professionalism, earning top placements and recognition among talented students nationwide.
The event, held in San Antonio, Texas, attracted nearly 13,000 of the nation’s top middle- and high-school students.
Preston Tennant and Maritza Aragon represented Bettendorf High School at the conference, competing in Marketing and Intro to Marketing Concepts.
FBLA's National Leadership Conference brings together students to compete for scholarships in dozens of competitive events over four days.
Students also had the opportunity to engage in learning workshops, network with members, and engage in a variety of activities, including visiting the Alamo and a rodeo.
Bettendorf FBLA is fortunate to bring home an award from the conference. They received the Gold Seal Chapter Award. This award is earned by completing a variety of activities during the school year to instill FBLA values in Bettendorf members.
“I am incredibly proud of our students who competed at the National Leadership Conference,” said Angela Mojeiko, Bettendorf Adviser.
“It is a great experience for the students to visit a new place while gaining valuable leadership skills and networking with students from around the world. We are hoping to gain more popularity with FBLA in the future years.”
