MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 2, 2021) — The TaxSlayer Center unveiled building renovations and improvements at a private event on Thursday, July 1, 2021, as it prepares to reopen the facility for events without reduced-capacity restrictions. Over the fifteen-month shutdown, The TaxSlayer Center has made upgrades to the facility that will make it a safer environment for patrons.

The improvements and upgrades include a retrofit to automatic flush-valves and faucets in all public restrooms; bacteria-killing UV lights have been installed to disinfect escalator handrails; WIFI upgrades to support a new mobile-concession ordering-platform for contactless payment; installation of hand-sanitizing dispensers throughout the facility; and the purchase of electrostatic sprayers to disinfect seats and arm-rests along with new PPE inventory and several other COVID-19 remediation measures. In addition, the TaxSlayer Center completely remodeled and updated both their conference center and meeting-spaces along with their luxury suites.

“This has been a long time coming and we have used our down-time to complete capital projects that we couldn’t have done while the venue was fully open. Says Executive Director Scott Mullen, “We can’t wait to start doing full-scale shows and get more of our employees back to work.”

The July 9 TIME TO ROCK show featuring Dokken with a guest appearance by George Lynch, Firehouse, Jack Russel’s Great White, and Brandon Gibbs will be the first event without socially-distanced pod-seating. The center also hosted the Missouri Valley Women’s Basketball Tournament in March as well as fourteen local commencement ceremonies and a handful of conference-center events over the past four months.

There will be changes that people coming to the TaxSlayer Center should be aware of going forward. Below is a list of updated policies and procedures for future ticketed events.
