DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 1, 2022) — The Davenport Public Library will be hosting the Popular Astronomy Club for a program on Friday, August 5, Eastern, 8:30PM.
The Popular Astronomy Club will visit the Eastern Avenue Branch on Friday, August 5, for a night sky-viewing event. This outdoor event will begin at 8:45 p.m. and run through (at least) 10PM.
The club plans to bring the PACMO, their mobile observatory, and a number of telescopes for the public to look through. Saturn will be viewable just before 9PM. We’ll be viewing deep sky objects, such as nebula and star clusters.
In conjunction with their visit, the library will offer camp-side stories and glow-in-the-dark cornhole. Cloud/Rain date: Friday, August 26.
