Bald Eagles - Favorite Winter Visitors
 
Each winter bald eagles migrate south from Canada for the cold weather months. The Quad Cities is a popular spot because of our location on the Mississippi River. You can go eagle watching anytime this winter in the Quad Cities. Here are some popular places.
Bald Eagle Days is the largest event in the Midwest dedicated to this U.S. symbol. Bald Eagle Days takes place January 5-7, 2018, the QCCA Expo Center, 2621 4th Ave., Rock Island, Ill. Hours: Fri. 4-8 pm, Sat. 10 am-8 pm, and Sun. 10 am-5 pm. Thousands turn out for the annual event which includes: live eagle programs, Quad City Audubon eagle tours, exhibits, and activities.
 
Cool Winter Activities & Events
 
Snowstar Winter Park is now open for skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and brand-new ski bikes!
 
Bettendorf opened its Frozen Landing Ice Rink with free ice skating and $2.00 skate rentals.
 
Icestravaganza returns for its 6th year on Saturday, January 13 at the Freight House in downtown Davenport. Watch professional ice sculptors carve 20,000 lbs. of ice into interactive pieces, indoor kid's activities, and an Icestravaganza After Hours Party.
 
Bettendorf's Winter Carnival involves indoor and outdoor activities on Saturday, January 20 at the Family Museum, Bettendorf Library, and Life Fitness Center.

 
Hockey with the Quad City Mallards
 
The Quad City Mallards are one of the winningest teams in all of minor league hockey.  They play at the TaxSlayer Center in downtown Moline through early April so you'll want to catch the excitement of one of their games.  They have promotions almost every game with $2 hot dogs and $2 beers on Fridays, theme nights, giveaways, jersey auctions, and more.
 
Be a Tourist Weekend - Jan 12-15
