DeWITT, IOWA (September 21, 2022) — The Clinton County Democrats will host eight statewide and four local candidates at their Soapbox Social on Sunday, September 25, 1-4PM, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in DeWitt, Iowa. Admission is free, and attendees can enjoy a free slice of homemade pie and ice cream while quantities last.

“In the spirit of old-fashioned political discourse, Clinton County is offering every candidate an opportunity to stand on a soapbox and voice their views,” according to Rita Hart, Chair of the Clinton County Democrats. “We are looking forward to an enjoyable afternoon listening to passionate speeches, eating homemade pie and ice cream, drinking lemonade, and celebrating the beauty of living in the United States of America where we have the freedom to speak our minds and the privilege to vote for our leaders.”

Candidates scheduled to appear are Christina Bohannan, Deidre DeJear, Michael Fitzgerald, Michael Franken, Joel Miller, Tom Miller, John Norwood, Rob Sand, Eric Van Lancker, Jed Ganzer, Jenny Hansen, and Kay Pence.
