DAVENPORT, IOWA (December 9, 2019) — As part of their ongoing efforts to highlight the importance of early education and volunteerism, United Way of the Quad Cities is hosting a special reading by Carson King, the young man who recently donated $3 million to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

King will be reading to children ranging from three to five years old at Friendly House, 1221 N Myrtle St, in Davenport at 3PM this Wednesday, December 11. The event was facilitated by United Way, who were inspired by his individual effort to turn a viral moment into a life-changing donation for families in crisis.

Carson King will be available for interviews, as will Rene Gellermna, the President and CEO of United Way of the Quad Cities, and Lorelei Pfautz, the Executive Director of Friendly House.
