FAYETTE, IOWA (February 7, 2022) — Five years and over $500,000 in donations later, Upper Iowa University (UIU) is eager to open Giving Day 2022 at 12AM, Thursday, February 10. All alumni, faculty, staff, current and future students, and friends of UIU are encouraged to share their love for the University during this Valentine's season.

During 48 hours, Thursday, February 10-Friday, February 11, UIU will be sharing real-life Peacock "love connections," student-success stories, and how previous Giving Day contributions have made a meaningful impact to the future of UIU and its students.

"Giving Day acknowledges the importance of supporting our future UIU students so they may share in even more academic opportunities and successful career outcomes that our current and past UIU students have experienced," said Andrew Wenthe, UIU vice-president of external affairs. "Whether an individual is able to donate $5 or $5,000 through Giving Day, the collective power of the Peacock family significantly impacts the future of UIU."

The 2021 day of giving at UIU resulted in over 600 generous supporters contributing approximately $145,000. The successful celebration continued throughout the following weekend with an additional $2,341 in donations.

"With each successful Giving Day campaign, we become even more appreciative of not only those who donate funds, but also the entire community for exhibiting its ongoing support for UIU," Wenthe added. "It's this community partnership that ensures the continued success of the University for generations to come."
