MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 19, 2019) — Visit Quad Cities, the region's official Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMMO), initiated a new destination master-planning project for the Quad Cities regional destination with Resonance, a global leader in tourism, economic development, place-strategy, place-branding, and real-estate development.

The destination and tourism assessment study will yield a Quad Cities strategic plan that will include a comprehensive assessment of the region and recommendations for the QC as it continues to competitively position itself for the future.

Visit Quad Cities is now seeking the public's input. A questionnaire, developed by Resonance, is now available on www.QuadCitiesSurvey.com. (Or the survey link is available on www.visitquadcities.com.) The survey takes a few minutes to complete. The questions will help generate valuable feedback on a wide range of topics to better understand people's experiences in the Quad Cities and the region's quality of life. Residents and visitors will both be surveyed to capture as much input as possible. There is also a chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card!

The survey also poses questions about the impacts of tourism, local experiences, and travel decision-making.

“We are asking for all Quad Citizens and our visitors to help us with this extremely important project,” said Dave Herrell, President and CEO, Visit Quad Cities. “This feedback, research, and plan will simply enable us to improve our regional destination and build our story. We need everyone connected to the QC to participate because tourism is critical to our economic development efforts and people attraction strategy.”

As part of the strategic plan process, the following goals and objectives have been identified and are prioritized below.

  1. Creating a unified identity and narrative to promote the Quad Cities as a place to live, work, and visit;
  2. Generating demand and overall growth of the visitor economy;
  3. Improving the overall visitor-experience by addressing product-gaps and opportunities;
  4. Maximizing the economic-impact of the visitor economy (tax revenue, jobs, etc);
  5. Increasing investment in the visitor economy;
  6. Building consensus and collaboration in the tourism industry;
  7. Ensuring the visitor economy enhances resident quality-of-life; and
  8. Ensuring the visitor economy delivers sustainable and desirable environmental outcomes.

Resonance Consultancy will create a Tourism Master Plan, destination-development strategies, marketing strategies, and management plans that will shape the future of the Quad Cities. Resonance’s approach to creating the region’s Destination Strategic Plan is rooted in understanding consumer travel trends thoroughly, defining the aspirations of both current and prospective future consumers, benchmarking the Quad Cities against its competitive set, and creating a market-leading strategic plan for the region.
