MOLINE, ILLINOIS (July 14, 2023) — American Airlines will offer twice-daily service from Quad Cities International Airport to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Booking will be available starting July 15, and the inaugural flight will be December 21, 2023. Service will be provided on a CRJ-900, 76-seat, dual-class cabin jet.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (June 27, 2023) — The Rock Island Arsenal Museum will re-open Thursday, June 29, 2023, after being closed for more than three years. There will be an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30AM to mark the occasion and to celebrate the return of the installation and greater Quad-Cities landmark of military history and heritage of the region. The museum originally opened on July 4, 1905, and is the second-oldest museum in the US Army.

Quad Cities – New bicycles have arrived for the start of the season for bike rentals the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau announces today.

The Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (QCCVB) is currently the only organization renting bicycles in the area.  The new TREK® bicycles are available to rent by the hour or the day at the QCCVB’s three downtown visitor centers in Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island.

RAGBRAI® sponsors a kid’s art contest for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Davenport is the ending town for this year’s ride across Iowa for 20,000 cyclists arriving on July 28. Our community’s winner will go on to be entered in the statewide contest with the grand prize winner receiving $350.

Davenport, Iowa (April 19, 2018) – It’s 100 days until RAGBRAI reaches Davenport!  RAGBRAI is the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.  2018 is the 46th annual non-competitive bicycle ride across the state on July 22-28 for thousands of cyclists and their support crews from around the world.  The route on the last day will take riders from Iowa City to Davenport.

Davenport, Iowa – The Veterans of Underage Military Service (VUMS) hold their 26th Annual Reunion on April 23-25, 2018, at the Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn in Davenport, Iowa.  This organization is composed of men and women who enlisted in a U.S. military service before being of legal age to do so.  While many enlisted at age 15 or 16, a good number did so as early as 12, and some were in combat at age 13.

Rock Island, Ill. – The Lions Clubs of District 1-H (includes 13 counties in west central Illinois) host their District Convention on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center, 227 17th Street, Rock Island.
