DIXON, IOWA (August 7, 2025) — On Wednesday, August 20, 10AM, there will be a Wetlands and Watersheds Event held at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center in Dixon, Iowa. This program is open to the public, all ages welcome.

The Iowa Learning Farm will be bringing a special presentation. They will discuss The Wonderful World of Wetlands and the importance of these vibrant ecosystems and the biodiversity they support! Students will be transported to a wetland through audio and visual means, and interactive games of Habitat Hopscotch and Wetlands BINGO are woven throughout the in-classroom presentation.

There is a program fee of $3/person payable at registration. Please come prepared for the weather because much of the planned programming will take place outdoors. Online registration is required for ALL attendees including students and parents/guardians.

The Wapsi River Environmental Education Center can be found six miles south of Wheatland or one mile northwest of Dixon, Iowa, by taking County Road Y4E, then turning north at 52nd Avenue and following the signs for about one mile.
