The Path of Service and the Nature of Suffering Registration fee: $150 Friday & Saturday, May 12 & 13, 2017 Friday: 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm Saturday: 9:30 am – 3:30 pm Many people are called to the path of service, whether they are therapists, healers, doctors, teachers, parents, or those caring for a sick loved one. In Buddhist philosophy, understanding our relationship to the unavoidable pains of this world offers us a way out of suffering and teaches us how to be of greater service to those we love and to the world. In this workshop, students learn techniques for maintaining balance while caring for others, has well as how to manage burn out, compassion fatigue, and self-care. This workshop helps participants move forward on their path of service with greater clarity, purpose, and joy.

Bay Area Consciousness Studies School Offering Series of Workshops in Iowa’s Quad Cities Region This May

Foundation of the Sacred Stream, a Berkeley-based non-profit organization, offers a core set of workshops in Depth Hypnosis, Applied Shamanism, Applied Buddhist Psychology, Integrated Energy Medicine and Empowered Living. Through these programs, the foundation seeks to make these traditions more accessible to the community and empower individuals to experience themselves and the world in new ways.

Starting May 9, Sacred Stream will be offering some of their most popular workshops in Iowa’s Quad Cities region. Courses available include: Coming to Peace: Methods of Conflict Resolution (Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center, Hiawatha), Expanding Consciousness: The Four Immeasurables Resolution (Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center, Hiawatha), Embracing the Sacred Feminine (Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, Wheatland), Consciousness and Integrated Energy Medicine (Bettendorf Public Library, Bettendorf), and The Path of Service and the Nature of Suffering (Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, Wheatland).

All workshops will be taught by Sacred Stream Founding Director and Lead Instructor, Isa Gucciardi, Ph.D., author of Return to the Great Mother. Isa is the creator of Depth Hypnosis, a therapeutic model that combines Buddhism, Hypnotherapy, Shamanism and Transpersonal Psychology. Dr. Gucciardi will also be discussing her new book, Coming to Peace, at the Humility of Mary Center in Davenport on May 8.
