ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 31, 2025) — YWCA Quad Cities will host a community canned-food drive on Saturday, November 1, 12-3PM, at its Aquatic Center.

Guests are invited to bring a minimum of two non-perishable food items per person and will receive free admission to the YWCA’s indoor aquatic center.

Attendees can enjoy the slide, lazy river, rock-climbing wall, splash area, and more.

The event is open to the public; you do not need to be a member to participate.

All food donations will support YWCA Quad Cities’ Empowerment Center, which provides essential, wraparound services to help women and families achieve stability and independence.

The Empowerment Center offers both immediate assistance, such as food, clothing, hygiene products, free laundry, and showers, and long-term support, including crisis navigation, financial literacy, and other programs designed to foster empowerment and self-sufficiency.

In the past few months, the number of families we serve through our Empowerment Center has quadrupled.

With the potential suspension of SNAP benefits, we expect even more families to turn to us for help. Events like this allow our community to come together and make a tangible difference.
