ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (September 10, 2025) — YWCA Quad Cities is excited to announce the launch of free financial literacy classes, open to anyone in the community.

In partnership with EmPeople Credit Union, the YWCA will host a one-hour financial basics course designed to help participants strengthen their money management skills. Classes will be offered four times a month, at no cost to attendees.

Sessions will take place during the first and third week of each month at the YWCA Quad Cities (513 17th St, Rock Island). The first two courses begin on September 16 and September 17.

Class times are:

• Tuesdays at 10:30AM

• Wednesdays at 3PM.

“These classes are another way we’re helping individuals and families gain the tools they need to thrive and break the cycle of poverty,” said Amy Schaefer, Executive Director of the YWCA Quad Cities Empowerment Center.

The YWCA Quad Cities is committed to providing resources and programs that promote economic empowerment and self-sufficiency.
