WASHINGTON – Senator Charles "Chuck" Grassley will hold town meetings in Wapello County on May 30 and Appanoose County on May 31 as a part of his annual 99 county meetings.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The month of May gives us an opportunity to increase public awareness about the challenges faced by those struggling with mental illness. It also encourages us to consider reforms to policies that affect these individuals as well as their friends and family members.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — Interested in art? Join educators from the Figge Art Museum on Monday, June 10, 6PM, at Main (321 N Main St) as they highlight their latest exhibit featuring artist Vanessa German, who creates sculptures from found objects. An activity based on the exhibition will follow the presentation. Registration is required.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — The Scott County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is hosting a town-hall meeting in Le Claire, Iowa on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, to discuss the aftermath of the Mississippi and Wapsipinicon floods, the needs of residents, and recovery steps that will take place in the upcoming weeks.

Residents living in the Le Claire, Princeton, and the unincorporated areas of Scott County impacted by the flooding are all invited to attend.

 

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 20, 2019) — Due to the April 30 flood that has Bucktown Center for the Arts closed for renovations, MidCoast Fine Arts’ 2019 ArtWorks Expo High School Pastel Competition will be held at the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges Campus (EICC). ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 20, 2019) — The Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Police, and more than 200 law-enforcement agencies across the state are joining the national “Border to Border” campaign by increasing seat-belt patrols and enforcement-zones today through Memorial Day.
