Gov Kim Reynolds Issues Disaster Proclamation for Howard County

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 22, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation today in response to flooding and flash flooding beginning March 13 and continuing.

The governor's proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather, and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents, along with the Disaster Case Management Program, for Howard County.

Gov Kim Reynolds Launches 211 Flood Hotline and One-Stop 2019 Iowa Floods Website to Assist Iowans

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 22, 2019) — Effective immediately, Iowans can call 211 with questions or concerns about the massive flooding and what steps they can take toward recovery. The Flood Hotline is open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week. In addition, Governor Kim Reynolds also launched an easy-to-navigate website atfloods2019.iowa.gov.

Gov Kim Reynolds signs HF288 with USAF Sec Heather Wilson, Sen Joni Ernst

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 22, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds signed HF288. She was joined by United States Airforce Secretary Heather Wilson and US Senator Joni Ernst. The bill expands the availability of the Injured Veterans Grant Program funding and expedites the process for military spouses to obtain occupational licenses in Iowa.

Senate Budget Plan Includes Realistic Deficit Reduction

WASHINGTON DC (March 22, 2019) — Senate Budget Committee Chairman Mike Enzi (R-WY) introduced today a Chairman’s Mark of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget resolution to be considered and voted on by the full committee. The budget calls for $538 billion in deficit reduction over five years.
