DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 20, 2019) — On Tuesday, February 19, Davenport Fire crews were dispatched to the 900 block of West Second Street shortly after 8:30PM for a structure fire. When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the rear of the building where the door was on fire. Chief Jim Morris says this is a vacant property; however, there were remnants of individuals living in it. The structure received minor damage. No injuries were reported.

WEST BURLINGTON, IOWA (February 20, 2019) — The Southeastern Community College Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for students who plan to attend SCC in the fall of 2019. The deadline to apply is 4:30PM, March 1.

The Foundation has more than 500 scholarships totaling an estimated $400,000 available to students for the upcoming school year.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 20, 2019) — West Second Street is being closed between Gaines and Warren Streets for a water main break.  Brown Street is closed at 3rd St and at River Drive.

Individuals can access the Centennial bridge using 3rd or 4th Street to Gaines. Repairs are estimated to be complete, and the roads re-opened sometime Friday.
