DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — The Quad Cities will come together to run for the gold at the 2019 CASI St. Patrick’s Day Race Presented by Wells Fargo on Saturday, March 16, 2019 to benefit the Center for Active Seniors, or CASI, as it is known to so many.

WASHINGTON DC (February 25, 2019) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley continued his years-long effort to ensure tax-exempt hospitals are fulfilling the standards for serving communities and low-income patients as required by law.

In a letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig, Sen Grassley pressed for data on how many hospitals are in compliance with the requirements for tax exempt status and the status of IRS examinations of those not in compliance.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — The program “Where Does Your Trash Go?” scheduled today, February 25, at 6PM, has been cancelled. The presenter, who is travelling from Minnesota, will not reach Davenport today due to poor road conditions. There are no plans to reschedule at this time.

DES MOINES, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — AARP is now accepting applications for the 2019 Community Challenge grant program to fund "quick-action" projects that spark change in local communities. The grant program, which is now in its third year, is part of AARP's nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which aims to make communities great places to live for everyone.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2019) — Will your chef skills impress the judges? Teens (ages 11-19) are invited to compete in the Teen Master Foodie Challenge on March 16 at 2PM at Fairmount (3000 N Fairmount St). Teens can enter as individuals or in teams of two in a mystery ingredient challenge where everyone is given 30 minutes to create a delicious dish using only provided ingredients and utensils.
