During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the American Red Cross is reminding the community that a blood donation is one way to help bring hope and healing to those fighting cancer and other illnesses- the perfect time to give blood and platelets at donation centers to support cancer patients and others.

State earns perfect score 100/100; Tennessee second with 79/100 for a ‘C’

 SPRINGFIELD – Illinois has earned sole recognition for the strongest mental health parity laws and policies in the country, according to new state report cards released this week. 

Active weather has changed projected and actual river levels.  The Mississippi is now forecast to crest at 15.9 FT on Tuesday, October 9.  River levels are expected to hover between 15 and 15.9 FT before beginning to fall below 15 FT late next week.

The current river level is 15.12 FT. 

Based on the current and projected river levels, the following flood impacts and measures have been or will occur in the coming days.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to fly at half-staff from sunrise on Oct. 6 to sunset on Oct. 7, 2018. Flags will fly at half-staff Saturday, Oct. 6, to honor a fallen soldier and Sunday, Oct. 7, for the Fallen Firefighters Memorial service.
