Illiniwek celebrates summer solstice, the longest day of the year, with all-day activities

HAMPTON, Ill. (June 18, 2018) – In celebration of summer solstice, Illiniwek Forest Preserve is hosting its first-ever, all-day Summer Solstice Party on Thursday, June 21. Guests of all ages are invited to attend a variety of events ranging from sunrise yoga and a sunset hike to food trucks and sun-themed crafts.

Quad Cities – New bicycles have arrived for the start of the season for bike rentals the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau announces today.

The Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau (QCCVB) is currently the only organization renting bicycles in the area.  The new TREK® bicycles are available to rent by the hour or the day at the QCCVB’s three downtown visitor centers in Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island.

Des Moines, May 23, 2018— The State Judicial Nominating Commission, which is responsible for selecting nominees for appointment to the Iowa Supreme Court, announced today it will begin accepting applications for the vacancy that will occur when Justice Bruce B. Zager retires September 3, 2018. The commission has sixty days to send a slate of nominees to the Governor, who makes appointments to the court.
