BETTENDORF, IOWA (September 10, 2024) — Parents, professionals, and others interested in helping with the kick-off of the 2024 FIRST LEGO League season:

We are looking for volunteers for the FIRST LEGO League kickoff event on September 14 in the Quad Cities (Iowa and Illinois) Region. The Tenth Annual FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge season kick-off, which is free to attend, is at the Putnam Museum and Science Center in Davenport.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 10, 2024) — This year we aim to raise enough funds to purchase the second Argrow’s residential home. This home will house women and children through the Argrow’s House Residential Program. The women will live rent-free in a safe and secure home for one year, during which time they will participate in free counseling, support groups, and financial literacy training, ultimately entering into a first-time home-owners program.

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 9, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced her appointment of Melinda Wicks and Matthew Schuling as district associate judges in Judicial Districts 3B and 4, respectively.

Wicks, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, serves as a magistrate in Woodbury County and as a deputy county attorney in the Dakota County Attorney’s Office, State of Nebraska. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and law degree from Washburn University of Law.
