DES MOINES, IOWA (July 16, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced the retirement of Emily Wharton, director of the Iowa Department for the Blind, effective July 18, 2024. Wharton has led the department for seven years and previously served as its technology director. She is a former client of the Department for the Blind and graduated from its Iowa Blindness Empowerment and Independence Center.

TAMPA, FLORIDA (July 16, 2024) — The University of Tampa has honored 2,221 students who were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2024 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the Dean's List.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 11, 2024) — Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird today co-led a multistate coalition in asking the US Supreme Court to hear Missouri’s challenge to New York’s political prosecution against (former) President Trump.

MIDWAY, KENTUCKY (July 11, 2024) — It was another highly successful spring semester in the classroom for Midway student-athletes, with 460 earning a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

To qualify, a student-athlete must hold a grade-point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for the entire semester.

Of the 460 selected, 265 were named to the Dean's List, which requires a GPA of at least 3.6, while 131 had a perfect GPA of 4.0.

BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA (July 11, 2024) — South Dakota State University announces Zoey Cathleen Ahrens of Bettendorf, Iowa, (52722) has graduated following the spring 2024 semester.

Ahrens graduated with a Bachelor of Science in SDSU's College of Education and Human Sciences.

More than 1,500 students completed all requirements for a degree and/or certificate program. Overall, students from 35 states and 24 nations graduated following the spring 2024 semester.
