Rev. Dr. Melvin Grimes has been selected by the Churches United of the Quad City Area Board of Directors to serve as Interim Executive Director. Dr. Grimes will continue the tradition of Christian faith-based leadership until a new Executive Director is chosen to replace Anne Wachal, who stepped down in December.

Today, Jim Bickford, Davenport Interim Fire Chief, is pleased to announce that Capt. Jim Morris has been promoted to Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal.   Morris has served as Interim Fire Marshal since October 2017 following the unexpected death of Fire Marshal Mike Hayman.

Communities across the state stepped up to share the real stories of how critical services, schools, and businesses have been hurt by Governor Reynolds and her messed up priorities that put partisanship and special interests ahead of Iowa.   The Iowa Democratic Party gave these Iowans a platform with our “Iowa Deserves Better Tour,” with stops in Mason City, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, and Grinnell.

LINCOLN (Jan. 16, 2018) — Gov. Bruce Rauner is building on his efforts to improve outcomes for individuals who are incarcerated in Illinois.

He toured Logan Correctional Center, the female inmate facility in Lincoln, just before signing House Bill 1479 and solidifying the creation of a new women’s division within the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC).
