DES MOINES, IOWA (May 28, 2026) — This week, inside six John Deere facilities across Iowa, employees are framing and assembling walls of entire homes. Habitat for Humanity crews will transport those finished panels to home sites in Des Moines, the Quad Cities, Waterloo, and Dubuque, where the walls will be raised and completed into new homes for local families.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (May 28, 2026) — On June 1, the 66th Honor Flight will leave the Quad Cities International Airport with over 80 veterans on their way to Washington DC to see the memorials built in their honor.

Because of construction beginning at the Airport there will be changes.

On the morning of June 1, all veterans should be dropped off at Door 6.  (This is a change from the usual 7.)

DES MOINES, IOWA — The Iowa Brewers Guild is gearing up for the return of the Iowa Craft Brew Festival on Saturday, June 6, 12-4PM, at Water Works Park in Des Moines. DUBUQUE, IOWA (May 28, 2026) — University of Dubuque alumna Paige Manning (‘25) was one of two recipients of the 43rd annual McElroy Trust graduate fellowship. The prestigious fellowship carries a stipend of $36,000, paid over three years, to support graduate study.

“I am so honored to be named a McElroy Fellow,” Manning said.

ROCK FALLS, ILLINOIS (May 27, 2026) — Rock Falls Tourism is proud to announce the completion of a new flag mural at Veterans Memorial Park Stage, located at 500 5th Avenue in Rock Falls.

A dedication ceremony for the mural was held on Memorial Day, May 25, 2026, as part of the community’s observance honoring the men and women who have served our country.

The mural was created by local artist Ozell Taylor of Rock Falls.
