CHICAGO (Dec. 1, 2017) — Gov. Bruce Rauner and the Illinois Bicentennial Commission today announced the signature events and projects that are planned to celebrate the state’s 200th year.

I get a kick out of hearing what other Iowa families serve at their holiday tables each year. Many Iowans celebrate Christmas Eve with a bowl of oyster stew or chili. One of my friends gave me his family’s traditional fruitcake recipe. Another family I know prepares a make-your-own waffle buffet on Christmas Eve, complete with whipped cream, strawberries and lots of maple syrup.

CLIVE, Iowa, Dec. 1, 2017 – A Davenport woman said she woke up her husband with news that she’d won the lottery.

Sally Cerra claimed the 10th of 19 top prizes of $30,000 available in the Iowa Lottery’s “Jolly Holiday Crossword” scratch game.
