(Rock Island, IL) Approximately 25 refugee families from eight countries speaking eleven different dialects will gather Thursday, December 14th for a fun-filled day of traditional Christmas activities.  The day, organized by Spring Forward Learning Center teachers, begins at 9:30 am with cookie decorating followed by a 10 am visit from Santa Claus at the Church of Peace (1114 12th Street Rock Island).

On Giving Tuesday (November 28), United Way of the Quad Cities Area collected monetary donations and items. Because of the generosity of the Quad Cities, items were distributed on Monday, December 11, 2017.

Iowa City, IA (December 8, 2017) – There is still time to nominate a great Iowa nurse for the 100 Great Iowa Nurses 2018 award. Nominations are open at www.greatnurses.org and close December 31, 2017. Each year, the program recognizes 100 nurses across the state whose compassion and commitment to their patients and the nursing profession stand out above all others. Founded in 2005, the program has recognized 1,300 Great Iowa Nurses.
