“Iowans are left wondering how Kim Reynolds will balance the budget”

Des Moines, IA - State Senator Nate Boulton, Democratic candidate for governor, made the following statement in reaction to Governor Kim Reynolds’ decision to ignore the budget crisis and refusing to call a special session to address the state’s budget shortfall:

Proclamation by Gov. Reynolds among activities highlighting college access program 

 Schools and students around Iowa are celebrating National GEAR UP Week, recognizing the federal program to increase college attainment for students from low-income school districts. Iowa College Aid administers the $22 million grant that serves more than 8,000 students in 12 Iowa districts.

Happy Joe’s Kids Foundation is hosting the 4th Annual Ridetoberfest Saturday, September 30, 2017, with the ride to begin at Grille 350, 350 E. LeClaire Road in Eldridge, Iowa. There will be three events: a 53-mile fun ride with registration and 2pm, and for those wanting a more leisurely ride, a 22-mile route with check in and ride at 3pm. For those who prefer to spend time with the little ones, we are offering a family 5-mile FUN RIDE that will check in and ride at 4 pm.
