Moline, Ill. -- Stakeholders, experts and policymakers will convene at the 10th annual Upper Mississippi River Conference, ‘Big River. Big Challenges.” in Moline, Ill., Oct. 11-12, 2017. The conference will focus on environmental challenges facing the river system that includes the Mississippi, Illinois, Missouri and Iowa Rivers, along with scores of other freshwater sources.

United Way of the Quad Cities Area will host Day of Caring on Thursday, September 21, 2017, when 1,600 volunteers will participate in more than 90 projects throughout the Quad Cities.

SPRINGFIELD (Sept. 18, 2017) – Governor Bruce Rauner today announced that the state’s Department of Human Services (IDHS) will broaden access to the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The move fulfills an agreement made with the legislature in 2015 to raise the income eligibility criteria to 185% of the federal poverty level from 162%. It means 16,000 more children will receive child care each month, for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2018.
