Compromise legislation includes equitable funding for districts, more school choice for families

CHICAGO (Aug. 31, 2017) – Flanked by school children and legislative leaders, Gov. Bruce Rauner today signed historic school funding legislation that puts children first and makes lasting changes that will help generations of children to come.

Chicago, IL – Before a crowd of nearly 200 people, Daniel Biss announced Carlos Ramirez-Rosa as his running mate and choice for lieutenant governor at a rally in Logan Square tonight. 

"In this election, we have the chance to change the fundamental direction of our state by putting middle class and working families first," said Ramirez-Rosa. "But if we're going to transform our state, we can't replace one billionaire with another billionaire."

CHICAGO (Sep. 1, 2017) –Governor Bruce Rauner today granted seven and denied 87 clemency petitions. 

This is the nineteenth set of petitions the governor has reviewed since taking office. Each person granted clemency has recently undergone a criminal background check through the Illinois State Police’s Law Enforcement Agencies Data System.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The St. Ambrose University Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering has been reaccredited and the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering has received initial accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology. 

WASHINGTON – Preliminary data provided by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in response to recent inquiries from the House and Senate Judiciary Committees indicate that the Obama administration allowed thousands of DACA recipients to exploit an immigration law loophole to obtain green cards. The data also show that more than a thousand DACA recipients have already obtained citizenship.

The Adrianne Reynolds Fund honors the memory of an East Moline teenager whose life tragically ended in murder by fellow teens in January, 2005. 

In November, 2004, she began attending the Black Hawk College Outreach Center to earn her GED.  Adrianne was killed in an act of violence, involving three other juveniles.
