AMES, Iowa, Aug. 22, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S Department of Commerce announced its preliminary decision today to impose countervailing duties on biodiesel imported into the U.S. from Argentina and Indonesia.

THOMSON – U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos (IL-17) today toured Thomson correctional facility and received an update on the continued activation of the facility by the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). 

The Dick Fallow Endowment for Social Justice is accepting applications for its annual grant period. Applications will be accepted between September 1st, 2017, and September 30, 2017. The Dick Fallow Endowment for Social Justice was established in 2013 to carry on the life work of Richard E. Fallow who fought for Labor and Economic Justice; Environmental Sustainability; and Democracy and Human Rights. Each year the Endowment will issue a grant in one of these categories.

JOHNSTON, IOWA (Aug. 22, 2017) – According to second quarter results released by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) today, Iowa banks saw continued improvements in loan demand, outpacing the nation in loan growth for the quarter. Iowa-based banks provided more than $58.3 billion in total loans as of the end of the second quarter, up 5.71 percent from $55.1billion in the second quarter of the year prior. This compares to a 3.70 percent increase in total loans nationwide.
