JOHNSTON, Iowa - November 14, 2017 - The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) thanks Governor Reynolds for extending the proclamation until December 1, 2017 granting a temporary weight limit exemption for trucks on Iowa roads.

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation Monday extending the transportation of overweight loads of corn, soybeans, haw, straw, silage and stover. The proclamation will expire Dec. 1, 2017.

This proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage and stover to be overweight (not exceeding 90,000 pounds gross weight) without a permit, but only for the duration of this proclamation.

Bipartisan group urges Congress to repeal Ensuring Patient Access and Effective Drug Enforcement Act

DES MOINES – Attorney General Tom Miller joined 43 state and territorial attorneys general in urging Congress to repeal a 2016 federal law to enable the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to act against registered drug manufacturers and distributors that willfully contribute to the nation’s oversupply of prescription pain killers.
