JOHNSTON, IA - January 23, 2018 -Iowa House lawmakers passed legislation today, increasing state dollars to improve Iowa's water quality, mirroring a bill passed by the Iowa Senate during the 2017 legislative session. The bill, Senate File 512, now awaits Governor Reynolds's signature.

Iowa Corn Promotion Board Receives New MEG Patent Application for Bio-based Manufacturing Process

JOHNSTON, Iowa, December 8, 2017 - The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published this week a new patent application (U.S. 62/345,399) from the Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) adding to a previously issued U.S. patent on a proprietary production method using corn in the industrial manufacturing of a raw material called monoethylene glycol (MEG). MEG is an industrial chemical used in the manufacture of antifreeze, plastic bottles for pop or bottled water, and polyester clothes.

Iowa Corn Growers Association Announces 60 Day Harvest Weight Proclamation

JOHNSTON, Iowa – September 18, 2017 – To help haul in this year’s harvest, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed into effect today a proclamation granting a temporary 60-day weight limit exemption for trucks on Iowa roads. The 2017 Harvest Weight Proclamation specifically increases the weight allowable for shipment of corn, soybeans, hay, straw and stover, by 12.5 percent per axle (up to a maximum of 90,000 pounds) without the need for an oversize/overweight permit.
