SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Labor Council and State Lodge have issued the following statements regarding the passage of an Illinois state budget after the House and Senate voted this week to override Governor Bruce Rauner's veto:

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced appointees to Iowa’s boards and commissions Friday.

The following appointments are unpaid and are not subject to Senate confirmation:

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg signed a pledge at their weekly press conference Monday to move over or slow down for utility maintenance vehicles on Iowa roads.

Iowa’s Move Over, Slow Down law was enacted in 2002 and requires drivers to move over or slow down for stopped emergency vehicles with flashing lights. On July 1st, the law was expanded to include utility maintenance vehicles.

MOLINE -- City officials have announced 6th Avenue will be closed at 19th Street starting July 17 as contractors move a water main in anticipation of the new Interstate 74 bridge.

The new bridge -- with two spans of four lanes and full shoulders -- will go up just east of the existing structure. The replacement includes amenities such as a recreation trail and an overlook.
