General Assembly passes tax hike instead of balanced budget; Rauner opposes tying emergency services to tax hike

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Bruce Rauner today issued the following statement regarding the General Assembly’s decision to override his amendatory veto of SB1811, which tied critical 9-1-1 emergency services to a massive tax hike on Illinois families and businesses:

River Action in cooperation with the Davenport Parks Department will be celebrating Credit Island Park's history as it interprets the famous painting by George Seurat about Parisians taking a day off and enjoying the natural beauty of an island (the Grande Jette) in the Seine River near Paris.

SPRINGFIELD – Governor Bruce Rauner today granted ten and denied 104 clemency petitions. 

This is the eighteenth set of petitions the governor has reviewed since taking office. Each person granted clemency has recently undergone a criminal background check through the Illinois State Police’s Law Enforcement Agencies Data System.

A granted clemency request for a pardon with expungement allows the petitioner to seek expungement of their conviction through the court system.

More than 4 million Americans served  their country in the first World War, including women, African-Americans, Native Americans, and representatives of other minority groups.
