Robby the Robot, written by Iowa native Monica Shelton, is a story that many can relate to, no matter the reader's age level or experience. DAVENPORT, IA - On April 10, 2017, Shawn Eugene Lee, age 39, of Davenport, Iowa, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger to 130 months in prison for each of two separate bank robberies, announced United States Attorney Kevin VanderSchel. The sentences were ordered to run at the same time. Lee was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release following his imprisonment and to pay $200 towards the Crime Victims’ Fund.
DAVENPORT, IA - On April 10, 2017, Jennifer Wierson, age 43, of Davenport, Iowa, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger to 21 months in prison for theft from a government agency receiving federal program funds, announced United States Attorney Kevin VanderSchel.

Congratulates graduates for entering an agency that is embracing evidence-based approaches to rehabilitate youth

SPRINGFIELD - Governor Bruce Rauner today congratulated the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) Specialist Interns at the IDJJ graduation ceremony for their work to serve the people of Illinois. The governor commended the agency on the steps it’s taken to shift the state’s juvenile justice system into a youth-focused, rehabilitative model.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Dave Loebsack announced today that he will be continuing his “Making It Work” tour in Davenport and Muscatine. There are many elements that make up the fabric of a community, including businesses, economic development groups, hospitals and local law enforcement agencies, all made possible by hardworking Iowans. Loebsack will travel across the state to meet with Iowans and discuss what it takes to make their community work.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18th, the westbound lanes of 53rd Street will be reduced from Northwest Boulevard west to Villa Drive in order for contractors to perform water service repairs.

If possible, please use an alternative route and as always, please drive safely through construction areas.

Starting Wednesday, April 19th traffic on East Locust Street at and near College Avenue will be reduced down to one lane in each direction in order for contractors to perform sewer line repairs.

Repairs and lane reductions are expected through Wednesday, April 26th. To avoid traffic delays please use another route if possible and as always, use caution when driving through construction areas.
