(Moline, Ill.) Living Proof Exhibit, which celebrates the creative spirit of cancer survivors, is teaming up with the Muscatine Art Center to provide creative art sessions to cancer patients, survivors, and families touched by cancer. Two creative art sessions will be offered in October 2017 at the Muscatine Art Center. Trained instructors will guide participants in using art as one way to cope with a cancer diagnosis.

Items can be dropped off at the lobby entrance of the Center for Health Sciences Education, 1320 West Lombard Street.

There is a month-long book drive underway in the Quad Cities designed to bring more diverse books into the area. The QC Diversity Book Drive is collecting new children’s books for kids attending Monroe Elementary School in Davenport , Rock Island Academy and Frances Willard in Rock Island, throughout the month of April. The goal is to collect at least 1000 books that reflect a diverse, multicultural world.

April 12, 2017 – GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities, the local Down Syndrome Achievement Center, has been chosen as one of the benefactors for several car shows and cruise-ins here in the Quad Cities area this spring and summer. The Quad Cities Cruisers and the Quad City Camaro Club both chose GiGi’s as one of the charities to support this year.
