DES MOINES, IOWA (September 4, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds released the following statement in response to the death of David Wolnerman, Des Moines’ last known Holocaust survivor:

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 4, 2023) — Attorney General Brenna Bird joined a bipartisan coalition of 42 attorneys-general urging the Supreme Court to protect veterans’ rights by ruling in favor of James Rudisill in Rudisill v McDonough. The US Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”) denied Rudisill full use of his more beneficial Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, despite being eligible for those benefits.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (September 4, 2023) — The Kiwanis Club of Moline, Illinois, is partnering with First Baptist Church, 1901 29th St, Moline, for their “Diaper Depot” program. Over the past nine years, the Diaper Depot has served over 1,000 mothers with children, and has provided over 3,700 diapers over the past nine years, through their monthly distribution. The distribution, called “Diaper Depot” is held every third Saturday at the church.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 4, 2023) — On June 3, 2021, Bobby Fitzgerald Hunt Jr drove over seventy miles per hour through red lights and on the gravel shoulder of East Kimberly Road at three in the afternoon. He was drunk. By bad coincidence Alex Marietta left work on his bicycle and crossed East Kimberly Road with the traffic light in his favor at the same time. Fitzgerald struck and killed Alex and fled the scene.

COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (September 4, 2023) — Zoopocalypse is a family-friendly 5K Fun Run! This inaugural event is a fun(d)raiser to bring the Grizzly Bear to the zoo.
