DES MOINES, IOWA (May 4, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has signed the following bills into law:

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA (May 3, 2023)  The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council anticipates more than 125,000 students in Iowa will benefit from the STEM Scale-Up Program in the 2023-2024 academic year. The STEM Scale-Up Program provides educators and students throughout the state with access to some of the best available STEM educational opportunities from across the country.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (May 3, 2023) — Hy-Vee announces the launch of Hy-Vee Healthy You, a new health and wellness subscription service designed by Hy-Vee dietitians to help individuals develop healthier lifestyles through personalized nutrition counseling, preventative health screenings, and more. The subscription service is available across Hy-Vee’s eight-state region to individuals 18 and older.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 2, 2023) -- The Augustana Oratorio Society, Augustana Choir, Augustana Choral Artists and Augustana Symphony Orchestra are joining together to perform Maurice Duruflé's "Requiem, Op 9" and other choral works by French, English, and Brazilian composers. Jon Hurty and Ernesto Estigarribia will conduct the performance. The performance is May 7, 3PM, in Centennial Hall, 3703 7th Ave, Rock Island.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (May 2, 2023) — Local QCA writer David Hankins is a winner in the L Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest and was honored along with eleven other winning writers and twelve winning artists at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood, California, April 28.  His story, "Death and the Taxman," is illustrated by Sarah Morrison of Malden, Massachusetts who is an Illustrators of the Future winner herself.
