ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 10, 2023) — This winter, the Rock Island community invites you to be cool and take the plunge for the 2023 Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Rock Island‘s Polar Plunge will take place at Bally’s Quad Cities Casino and Hotel, 777 Bally Blvd, Rock Island, Illinois, on Sunday, March 12. Prior to the event starting, registration will begin at 12:30PM, followed by the plunge starting at 2PM.

WEST HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT (March 10, 2023) — The University of Hartford is pleased to announce Jenna Willet of Eldridge has been named to its President's Honors List for Fall 2022.

The President's Honors List is made up of an extremely select group of students who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher in the semester. This is the GPA that must be sustained over a full undergraduate career to qualify for a degree summa cum laude.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 9, 2023) — The Augustana College Department of Theatre presents ‘Small Mouth Sounds,’ March 16-19, at the Brunner Theatre Center Main Stage. Ben Gougeon of Quad City Arts will direct the performance.

In the comedy-drama, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat but their vows of silence conflict with their need to connect. Playwright Bess Wohl noted that everyone in the play is in some kind of agony, "not unlike the rest of us."
