IOWA CITY, IOWA (May 24, 2022) — Beth Young of Muscatine, Iowa, was one of the graduate students in the University of Iowa's College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Experimental Therapeutics (PSET) recognized at the inaugural Graduate Student Recognition event.

Young was honored for receiving the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 24, 2022) — Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller announced a $19.2 million multistate settlement with Ford Motor Co regarding claims that Ford falsely advertised the real-world fuel economy of model year 2013–2014 C-Max hybrids and the payload-capacity of model year 2011–2014 Super Duty pick-up trucks.

Iowa will receive a $289,538 payment to its Consumer Education Fund from the settlement.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 23, 2022) — The Iowa Attorney General’s Office will host mobile offices and give presentations around the state this summer to assist Iowans with consumer protection issues, including providing information on how to spot and protect themselves from fraud.

MUSCATINE, IOWA (May 23, 2022) — The artist William Havlicek describes his series “The Sanctuary of the Sun: Seasons and Time” as “a poetic eulogy to Iowa’s seasonal changes, ochre harvests, russet woods, and silent streams.” Selections from the series will be on exhibit in the historic house at the Muscatine Art Center from June 2 through September 11, 2022.
