MARION, IOWA (July 21, 2022) — Trees Forever is hosting an informational session for community leaders to learn about its carbon-crediting program and how carbon credits can be used to generate revenue for their Iowa or Illinois towns. The session will be held Tuesday, August 2, Noon, via a virtual Zoom meeting.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 21, 2022) — Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 2.6 percent in June — down from 2.7 percent in May and back to its pre-pandemic level. Iowa establishments added 5,100 jobs in June as the Labor Force Participation Rate also increased to 67.8 percent, up from 67.6 percent last month. The US unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent in June.

GARDEN CITY, NEW YORK (July 21, 2022) — Ramya Banda of Bettendorf, Iowa (52722), was among more than 1,700 undergraduate and graduate students recently awarded degrees at Adelphi University, including those who completed degree requirements in December 2021 and May 2022.

Banda majored in Biology and earned a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, and Departmental Honors.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 20, 2022) — Secretary of State Paul Pate announces Iowans registered the highest number of new business entities in state history during the 2022 fiscal year. 33,331 new businesses registered with the Secretary of State’s Office between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022. The mark breaks the previous record of 33,260 set last year.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (July 20, 2022) — Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities is one of more than 230 Habitat for Humanity affiliates awarded a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation as part of its nationwide initiative to help low to moderate income families build and improve their homes across the US.

Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities received a $15,000 grant to help build a home in Davenport.
